Monday 4 Sept.

Hamburg City Sightseeing Tour

After the impressive Opening Ceremony in the morning and a light lunch provided in the CCH the afternoon continuous with a guided sightseeing tour around Hamburg historical centre on the bus. The route goes past the town hall, the stock exchange, St. Michaelis Church and other attractions in the old heart of the town like the Merchants Quarter or the famous brick architecture of Fritz Höger. The bus stops in the city by the famous shopping arcades of the Jungfernstieg and drives on to the CCH.

Tuesday 5 Sept.
10:00 – 18:00 hrs

Hamburg´s Maritime Traditon (max. 85 participants)
49 € per person

This day will be dedicated to Hamburg’s maritime tradition. The tour starts in the morning with getting on board of a typical hanseatic boat next to the town hall. The local guide presents to you the old Warehouse Quarter and the Hafencity by water and introduces to you a nice museum harbour and the impressive container port, that Hamburg is famous for. The boat trip ends at noon the landing piers, where you have a typical lunch (ticket price is exclusive beverages). In the afternoon the highly prestigious private Scientific Institute for Shipping and Maritime History Peter Tamm with a unique collection of ship models, paintings, uniforms, flags and charts opens its doors for your visit including a guided tour. The CCH serves as starting and end point for the bus conveyance.

Wednesday 6 Sept.

Jewels of Hamburg´s Cultural Life (max. 60 partcipants)

Hamburg’s largest art museum, the Hamburg Art Gallery, is the destination of the tour on Wednesday morning to show you a part of cultural life in Hamburg. The Hamburg Art Gallery has been continuously extended since its opening in 1869. Nowadays it is one of few museums, where exhibited paintings and sculptures reach from the Middle Ages to Contemporary Art, presented to you by a guide. You have lunch in the Museum of Hamburg History in the winter garden of Cafe Fees (ticket price is exclusive beverages). In the afternoon, the tour members visit the School of The Hamburg Ballet of John Neumeier, who offers you the exclusive opportunity to view the institution and to access the rehearsals of the school and company members. The CCH serves as starting and end point for the bus conveyance.

Thursday 7 Sept.

Visit of the old fishing village Blankenese (max. 85 p.)

The trip on Thursday leads you to the countryside of the old fishing village Blankenese, very near to the centre of Hamburg. A guide will tell you about the peculiarities of this village on the bus and accompanies you on your walk or your ride around the so-called Stairs Carter, which is beautifully situated between the heart of Blankenese and the shore of the Elbe. You have lunch in the Strandhotel, a restaurant close to the beach (ticket price is exclusive beverages), where you can relax inside next to the fireplace on the patio with blankets, provided by the restautant. The CCH serves as starting and end point for the bus conveyance.

Friday 8 Sept.

Lübeck

This sightseeing tour presents to you the "Queen of the Hanseatic League", Lübeck's name in former days. A guide, dressed up with clothes of a historical trader, welcomes you and shows you around in the heart of Lübeck's mediaeval centre with some of the most beautiful brick buildings and gothic architecture in northern Germany. The feeding with local specialities, provided by market women, is part of tour next to anecdotes and information on the diverse locations you get to know with.
